School of Professional Journalism & Vocational Education
The School of Professional Journalism and Vocational Education is a major project of Alternative Youth Radio (AYR), currently under active construction in Zorzor, Lofa County. This institution will provide quality training in journalism and vocational skills, helping young people in rural Liberia gain the knowledge and skills needed for successful careers.
Our Vision
To create a centre of excellence that offers professional training in journalism and vocational skills, empowering young people for employment and community development.
Our Programs
- Journalism and Media Studies: Training in ethical reporting, broadcasting, and media production.
- Vocational Skills: Hands-on training in carpentry, tailoring, electrical work, and more.
- Community Development: Equipping students with skills to make a positive impact in their communities.
Project Status
Construction is actively ongoing, with the School expected to be dedicated by 2027. The total cost of the project is over $200,000 USD.

We are seeking donations of cement, steel rods, crushed rocks, and other building materials to help complete the School. Your contribution will directly support the construction and provide future generations with valuable skills and opportunities.
