Meet all AYR’s Board of Advisors

Zarballee K. Woiwor
Board Chairman
Zarballee K. Woiwor is an experienced development professional with a strong background in rural development and youth empowerment. A graduate of the Rueben L. Speaks College of Liberal Arts at AME Zion University with a degree in sociology, he is deeply committed to fostering community growth and capacity building.
Mr. Woiwor has led impactful initiatives, including the establishment of Radio Life in Lofa County and serving as Program Director for Excel Communications Network. He has consulted for organizations such as the World Bank and UNHCR, gaining expertise in project management, monitoring and evaluation, and community-driven development.
As founder of the Utility & Maintenance Company of Africa (UMCA) and co-owner of Eminent Security Guard Services, Woiwor supports youth employment and technical skill development. He also serves as President of Liberia Football Association’s 3rd Division Club Woiwor. His passion for youth development aligns perfectly with AYR’s mission.

Willimai Weetol-Geninyan
Co. Chairperson
Mrs. Willimai Weetol-Geninyan is a seasoned healthcare professional and educator with over two decades of experience. She previously served as the Directress of the Phebe-Esther Bacon College of Health Sciences in Zorzor, where she played a pivotal role in advancing nursing education and healthcare.
She holds a Master of Science in Maternal Child Health from Cuttington University, a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Stella Maris Polytechnic, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from United Methodist University. She also earned professional certificates in Anesthesia and Nursing from the Tubman National Institute of Medical Arts.
Mrs. Geninyan is a Fellow of the West African College of Nursing and has completed leadership training with Harvard Medical School’s Global Health Delivery Program and USAID/MCSP.
As a Board Member of Alternative Youth Radio, she brings extensive expertise in healthcare, leadership, and education to support AYR’s mission of community transformation.

James Papy Kwabo Jr.
AYR Secretary to the Board
James Papy Kwabo Jr. is a distinguished media expert, youth advocate, and communications professional with nearly two decades of experience within the public and private sectors as well as community development.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with emphasis in Broadcasting , graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the United Methodist University, and a Master of Public Administration in Public Sector Management from Cuttington University School of Graduate and Professional Studies.
In 2024, James was nationally celebrated for his contributions to youth empowerment and community development, receiving the National MoMo Hero of Change Award from Lonestar MTN. Since 2019, he has served as a Peer Advisor Leader (PAL) for the U.S. Department of State-funded Pan-African Youth Leadership Program (PAYLP), implemented by Meridian International. PAYLP is a flagship initiative that unites African youth and educators for transformative exchanges in the United States. The program emphasizes leadership development, cultural exchange, and civic responsibility, empowering participants to implement impactful projects in their home communities. As a PAL, James plays a pivotal role in mentoring participants and amplifying their ability to drive change while at the same time,coordinating between the US Embassy in Liberia and the participants.
In 2019, James was among 700 selectees for the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship, chosen from a competitive pool of over 38,000 applicants across Sub-Saharan Africa. This esteemed program, organized by the U.S. Department of State, recognized his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and community transformation. During the fellowship, he completed advanced Public Management training at Boise State University in Idaho, USA, further sharpening his leadership and organizational skills.
In 2017, James also represented Liberia at the Liberia-Colombia Youth Exchange Program, held in Bogotá, Colombia, and Zorzor, Lofa County respectively. This international initiative promotes collaboration and cultural understanding between youth in Liberia and Colombia, creating opportunities to share innovative ideas and best practices in community development, education, and cultural preservation.
As the Founder and General Manager/CEO as well as Secretary to the Board of Alternative Youth Radio (AYR), James has been a trailblazer in creating opportunities for young Liberians, particularly in Lofa County and other rural regions. Through AYR, he has provided employment, training, and mentorship to youths, empowering them to participate in Liberia’s media and communications sectors. Under his visionary leadership, AYR is evolving into a multimedia hub, fostering sustainable growth and innovation.
James is also an accomplished public speaker and community development advocate whose work has reshaped perceptions of rural Liberia. Since July 2005, he has been steadfast in his mission to empower youth and create positive change, earning him recognition as one of Liberia’s most impactful leaders.

Cllr. Peter Howard
Board Member & Legal Representative
Cllr. Peter Howard is a distinguished legal practitioner with a wealth of experience in Liberia’s judicial and corporate sectors. As a member of the Supreme Court Bar prosecuting of the Republic of Liberia, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to upholding justice. He also serves as a Legal Consultant for the Ministry of Labour and is the Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Howard and Partners, a reputable law firm he founded in Liberia
Cllr. Howard’s academic credentials are equally impressive, having earned Diploma from the Booker Washington Institute (BWI) and Degrees from the University of Liberia, and the Louise Arthur Grimes School of Law in General Agriculture and Law
In his role as a Board Member and Legal Representative of Alternative Youth Radio (AYR), Cllr. Howard brings exceptional legal expertise and strategic guidance to the institution. His dedication to youth empowerment and community development are directly inline with AYR’s vision for transformative change in Liberia.

David K. Mulbah
Board Member
Mr. David K. Mulbah is a distinguished financial professional with over a decade of expertise in accounting, internal auditing, and organizational management. A graduate of Cuttington University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (2010), Mr. Mulbah has further enhanced his professional credentials through certifications in QuickBooks, monitoring and evaluation, and public health programs.
Throughout his career, Mr. Mulbah has held pivotal roles, including Director of Finance for the AMMETON/World Bank Project, where he successfully managed a $2.5 million budget, and Finance Administrator for Tearfund Liberia, where he oversaw financial operations and human resource management. As Internal Auditor for Curran Lutheran Hospital and the Esther Bacon School of Nursing, he developed robust audit systems to ensure transparency and accountability.
As a Board Member of Alternative Youth Radio, Mr. Mulbah brings visionary leadership and a steadfast commitment to empowering communities through effective governance and sustainable development initiatives.

Jackson F. Wolobah
Board Member
Mr. Jackson F. Wolobah is a skilled economist and financial expert with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Minor in Management from the University of Liberia (2013). He is currently pursuing an MBA at Cuttington University School of Graduate and Professional Studies.
With extensive experience in financial management, Mr. Wolobah previously served as the Manager of Zorlayea Community Bank in Zorzor City, Lofa County, where he led operations for several years. He has also participated in various professional training programs, earning certifications in banking, financial management, and rural agricultural development.
A passionate advocate for youth empowerment, Mr. Wolobah served as President of the University of Liberia’s Zorzor District Student Association and as Secretary General for Public Affairs at the Zorzor District Development Caucus.
Currently, as Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Wolobah brings his wealth of expertise to the Alternative Youth Radio Board, where he continues to support youth-driven development initiatives.

Mulbah Weegie Kessellee
Board Member
Mulbah Wegee Kizzellee is a prominent businessman in Zorzor, Lofa County, with over 25 years of experience in business management. He is widely respected for his contributions to local economic development and his dedication to fostering entrepreneurship in the community.
As a member of the Board of Advisors for Alternative Youth Radio (AYR), Mr. Kizzellee provides strategic guidance and resource management expertise to support the station’s mission of empowering young Liberians through media and advocacy.
Known for his commitment to sustainable development, Mr. Kizzellee actively mentors aspiring entrepreneurs and leaders, helping to shape the future of Zorzor and beyond. His extensive business experience and deep ties to the community make him a valuable asset to AYR and its vision of creating opportunities for Liberia’s youth.
